Michelle Trachtenberg will once again be pulling double duty, as she returns for the season finale of Gossip Girl, TVGuide.com has confirmed. And a Gossip Girl cast member is making his way to Trachtenberg’s Mercy.
Connor Paolo, who plays Eric van der Woodsen on the CW’s Gossip Girl, is guest-starring in the March 3 episode of NBC’s Mercy, which is being filmed this week, an NBC publicist confirms.
Good news if you are a fan of Leighton Meester and Nina Dobrev: Their executive producer has promised to “work on” getting these real-life friends to guest star on each other’s CW shows.
Here’s what Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl executive producer Bob Levy tells me:
“I love that idea!” Levy said of having Nina guest star on Gossip Girl and Leighton guest star on Vampire Diaries some time in the future. The idea came up while I was chatting with Nina and Levy at a recent press event, and Levy said: “We’re gonna work on that. You have my word.”
William Baldwin has joked that his role on Gossip Girl is making him feel old.
The actor recently signed up to play the father of Serena Van Der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively.
However, Baldwin told Access Hollywood that a few years ago he would have played a love interest for Serena instead of a parent.
“Three years ago I would have been playing the older man in her life and now, all of a sudden, I’m playing her dad,” he said. “I would have been Blake Lively’s lollipop three years ago. Now I’m Grandpa.”

Because for teens in the Teenies, nothing carries quite so much cachet as the latest version of the cool-girl grunge look: luxe goth, if you like.
The poster girl for this is Taylor Momsen. She may not be able to legally drink, but the 16-year-old is already a lead in one of the most popular television series of the moment (as Jenny Humphrey, in Gossip Girl); has a modelling contract with IMG (here she is the latest face of the high-street chain New Look); and is lead singer and songwriter in the band the Pretty Reckless. All of which, together with her platinum locks, endless skinny legs, “whateva” attitude, and a look she describes as “grunge meets Chanel”, have made her the girl all teenagers want to be and their mothers dread.
SC: Before your job as stylist and costume designer for Gossip Girl, you were the assistant designer for Sex and the City. How did the New York City-centric nature of SATC prepare you for outfitting the Gossip Girl wardrobe?
ED: It taught me to be inspired by the city and that anything goes in New York, and to always remember that the city is a character. READ THE REST
